Musk to Trump: ‘You’d have lost without me’

‘Elon was ‘wearing thin’, I asked him to leave’, U.S. President hits back at billionaire businessman
Washington, D.C.: The relationship between U.S. President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk seems to be deteriorating, as both have publicly hurled personal attacks at each other.
Speaking with reporters at the Oval Office on Thursday, Trump expressed his frustration over Elon Musk’s stance on the new upcoming spending bill.
“I would have won Pennsylvania regardless of Elon…I’m very disappointed with Elon. He knew this bill better than anyone and he only developed a problem when he found out I would cut the EV mandate…”
Trump further said, “When he left he said the most beautiful things about me, he hasn’t said anything bad yet but I’m sure that will be next…I’ve helped Elon a lot…”
“Elon worked hard at DOGE and I think he misses the place…I think he got out there and he’s no longer in this beautiful Oval Office…it’s not just Elon, I think when some people leave they miss it so badly they develop a type of TDS…some embrace it and some become hostile.”
Reacting to Donald Trump’s statement, Musk wrote on X that without his support, Trump wouldn’t have become the President.
“Without me, Trump would have lost the election, Dems would control the House and the Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate.”
He separately wrote, “Such ingratitude.”

Musk has been raising his voice against Trump’s ambitious spending bill, One Big Beautiful Bill Act. Taking to social media, Musk called the bill a “disgusting abomination.”
Later, Trump hit back at Musk and wrote on Truth Social, “Elon was “wearing thin”, I asked him to leave, I took away his EV Mandate that forced everyone to buy Electric Cars that nobody else wanted (that he knew for months I was going to do!), and he just went CRAZY!”

On June 3, Musk had written on X, “I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore.
This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it.”
Elon Musk had announced his departure from DOGE a day before his tenure as Senior Advisor to the President and Head of DOGE came to an end. Trump had stated that Elon would continue visiting the White House.
