Indian missiles target 3 Pakistani air bases: Pak army

New Delhi: Amid heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, explosions were reported at three Pakistani air bases, including the strategic Noor Khan base in Rawalpindi. The Nur Khan base is regarded as the primary logistics hub of the Pakistan military.
In a late-night press briefing, the Pakistan Army’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), confirmed the strikes, stating:“India has targeted the Pakistan Air Force’s Nur Khan (Chaklala, Rawalpindi district), Murid (Chakwal), and Rafiqui (Shorkot, Jhang district) air bases.”
In retaliation, Pakistan reportedly launched drone attacks across several Indian cities and military installations, including the Sirsa air base. The Indian Army successfully thwarted all attempted strikes.
The Ministry of Defence, in a statement, said drones — including suspected armed variants — were detected across 26 locations along the International Border and the Line of Control (LoC). These locations included Baramulla, Srinagar, Avantipora, Nagrota, Jammu, Ferozpur, Pathankot, Fazilka, Lalgarh Jatta, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Bhuj, Kuarbet, and Lakhi Nala.
“Regrettably, an armed drone targeted a civilian area in Ferozpur, resulting in injuries to members of a local family. The injured have received medical assistance and the area has been sanitised by security forces,” the Ministry stated.
Defence officials confirmed that a high state of alert is being maintained, with aerial threats being monitored and engaged using counter-drone systems.
“The situation is under close and constant watch, and prompt action is being taken wherever necessary,” the Ministry of Defence added.
“Citizens, particularly those in border regions, have been advised to remain indoors, avoid unnecessary movement, and strictly follow safety advisories issued by local authorities. While there is no cause for panic, authorities have urged heightened vigilance and precaution,” it added.
