India strikes terror targets with missiles in Pakistan

New Delhi: Indian Armed Forces carried out a precise military operation against nine terrorist infrastructure sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

In a statement, the Ministry of Defence said the Armed Forces launched “Operation Sindoor”, hitting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir from where terrorist attacks against India have been planned and directed.

India targeted nine sites in the military operation with missiles, which it has called a precise and restrained response to the barbaric Pahalgam terror attack.

“Our actions have been focused, measured, and non-escalatory in nature. No Pakistani military facilities have been targeted. India has demonstrated considerable restraint in the selection of targets and method of execution,” the Ministry of Defence said in a statement.

“These steps come in the wake of the barbaric Pahalgam terrorist attack in which 25 Indians and one Nepali citizen were murdered. We are living up to the commitment that those responsible for this attack will be held accountable,” it added.

The Ministry said a detailed briefing on Operation Sindoor will be held during the day.

“This operation underscores India’s resolve to hold perpetrators accountable while avoiding unnecessary provocation. A detailed briefing on the operation will follow later today.”

According to Pakistan, it will respond at a time and place of its own choosing.

Reacting to India’s operation, U.S. President Donald Trump said, “It’s a shame. We just heard about it, just as we were walking in the doors of the Oval, just heard about it. I guess people knew something was going to happen based on a little bit of the past. They’ve been fighting for a long time, you know, they’ve been fighting for many, many decades and centuries.”

“I just hope it ends very quickly,” Trump said.
