Will use ‘economic force’ to merge Canada with US, says Trump

‘There isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell that Canada would become part of the United States’: Trudeau hits back
Washington DC: US President-elect Donald Trump has once again teased Canada and said he would integrate Canada into the US by using “economic force”.
After winning the US President elections, Trump has threatened to impose 25% traffic on Canadian and Mexican products coming into the US. Trump wants to stop the flow of drugs and illegal immigrants from both countries to the US.
On social media platform Truth Social, he also shared a map showing Canada as part of the United States. He gave the caption to the map “O Canada!”.
After sharing the map on social media, he renewed his offer of making Canada the 51st state of the United States. Speaking to reporters at Mar-a Lago in Florida, Trump said, “You get rid of that artificially drawn line, and you take a look at what that looks like, and it would also be much better for national security.”
“Canada and the United States, that would really be something.”
Talking about Canada’s military spending, Trump said, “They have a very small military. They rely on our military. It’s all fine, but, you know, they got to pay for that. It’s very unfair.”
Reacting to the US President-elect’s statement, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau took to social media platform X and said, “There isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell that Canada would become part of the United States. Workers and communities in both our countries benefit from being each other’s biggest trading and security partner.”

Trump has been making a point to merge Canada with the US as its 51st state since his November 5 win. He even floated this idea at his meeting with Justin Trudeau at Mar-a-Lago.
